Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen debuted in September 2008 on public television stations across the country. Filmed in the Cook’s Country farmhouse, it features the best recipes, testings, and tastings from Cook’s Country magazine and is hosted by the ensemble cast from America’s Test Kitchen. Go to CooksCountryTV.com to find out when the show is on in your area.

I’ve been excited about the premiere of Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen for a while now, and this weekend’s premiere did not disappoint. (I had been in ATK withdrawal for a few weekends. My DVR had either decided not to record the episodes, or the PBS pledge drive pre-empted it.) The shows are actually perfect complements to their respective publications–Cook’s Country TV to its magazine namesake and America’s Test Kitchen to Cook’s Illustrated. Here’s a breakdown of how they differ. (Keep in mind that only three episodes of Cook’s Country TV have aired so far.) 1. Theme Song. America’s Test Kitchen features a plucky instrumental with the voiceover announcing, “America’s Test Kitchen!” and introducing us to all our favorite folks: Christopher Kimball, Julia Collin Davison, etc. It’s a little dorky, but it works. Cook’s Country TV has an actual theme song! It’s “Right Between Your Eyes” by the band Hot Buttered Rum and has actual lyrics! 2. Live Audiences. Christopher Kimbal

I love Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen! back in the day I used to hate my kitchen because it was badly designed, the oven door wouldn’t open full, some cabinets were useless, all kind of stuff, fortunately I found a service online to redesign and get quality Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, now I’m back cooking and get a lot of inspiration from Cook’s Country!
