When did Mount Everest start forming?
Mount Everest is in the Himalayas, which are mountains formed by the continental convergence of The Indian Plate and the Eurasian plate. This collision started 50 million years ago, but the uplifting that formed Everest and the other Himalayas has only occurred in the most recent 10 million years.
