When do start baby food?
Typically you’ll start baby food between 4 and 6 months (usually around the time of the first tooth.) It doesn’t hurt to wait till 6 months, because babies are still getting most of their nutrition from formula/breastmilk until age 1. We started my son on cereals/veggies/fruits at 4 months, and he ate them really well, but would always get rashy around his mouth (possibly it made his drool more acidic?) We started back foods at 6 months and he’s done great since! Stage 2 is just a bit thicker than Stage 1 foods, so you can feed it at 6 months as well. Stage 3 should be avoided until baby has several teeth and has practiced on cheerios. I also recommend using ‘Mum-mum’s as teething biscuits. They are made of rice instead of wheat (you shouldn’t feed baby wheat, nuts, or honey before age 1) and are lots of fun for baby to eat. We started these at 7 months while he was teething. Between 2 to 5 servings of fruits and veggies per day is appropriate until age 1 (a serving is around 2 oz) Be
