If your machine doesn’t have a fabric softener dispenser, you can buy a dispenser ball (I know Downy sells one, but I’m not psecifically endorsing them). You would put the ball in with the clothes and detergent at the beginning. You can also just add the fabric softener at the beginning of the rinse cycle.
