When does bankruptcy end?

7 years after court proceedings end.

Regardless of the type of proceeding filed (Chapter 7, 11, or 13), bankruptcy proceedings come to an end when the Bankruptcy Court issues an order either dismissing or discharging the bankruptcy proceeding. How long this takes is entirely case-sensitive, and no generalizations can be made. You can check the Bankruptcy Court’s docket to determine whether any particular action has been discharged or dismissed.
