When doing a Psychology investigation (for AS coursework), do I actually write my hypothesis is . . ?
As the previous repliers have said, it is ok to write my Hypothesis is or the results of the study will show that BUT I advise my students to avoid writing sentences like this for any psychological assignment because it is obvious what your Hypothesis is (or what your essay will focus on) and you don’t know what your study will show yet (ok, most students do this after carrying out the study, so you do know, but the reader won’t until he/she gets to that part of your assignment), especially if you have used the heading Hypothesis! A better way to write a Hypothesis is: 1. Null-There will be no significant difference/association between/in the number of……….(use your study to delete where applicable and fill in the blank space) and any difference/association etc will be due to chance. 2.
