When I get full ferning does this mean I am ovulating on this day or is ovulation still 3 to 4 days away?
When you see the transitional pattern (ferns and pebbles) you are approaching ovulation and should have intercourse during this period because although you can only fall pregnant when you ovulate, the sperm do survive for around 3 days and can therefore still fertilize the ovum when you ovulate even if you had intercourse a few days earlier. When you see full ferns you are ovulating and should have intercourse on that day and the next day (as the egg survives approximately 24 hours).
