When i press the power button on my computer it is non responsive?
Try the obvious things first: Make sure the power cord is secure. If it’s plugged into a power strip, make sure the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. Try plugging the computer into a different outlet. If the computer still doesn’t turn on, it’s probably a bad power supply. Freeze-ups are pretty common when they go bad. EDIT: “occasionally the fans will turn on” –> That still sounds like a power supply issue. Your fans should be running constantly after the comp is on. 1) Do you ever see anything on your screen? or does it just stay black? 2) Can you get into the BIOS setup? 3) Does your computer make beeping sounds? (anything more than 1 generally suggests some type of hardware problem). If the answers are all NO, replacing the power supply would be the first thing I would try. If your comp is under warranty, call their tech support and get a 2nd opinion. If not, I would take it to a repair shop and tell them you think it might be the power supply.
