We liked Staircase School in my neighborhood, because the houses on our street had a bunch of concrete stairs up to the porches. Oldest kid is the teacher. Everyone else sits in front of the bottom stair- that’s “Kindergarten”. Teacher asks questions and as the others get them right they ascend in “grade” until someone hits the top, and that’s the winner. ~ Sadly I never actually got to PLAY because I was the oldest kid on my block AND I started school early, which meant I was in the highest grade in real school, so the other kids determined that it’d be unfair to let me do anything but be the teacher.
