When is an Ignition Interlock Device Required in Kansas?
If you are convicted of any 2nd offense DUI in Kansas (BAC under .15), you will have your license suspended for 1 full year, and then you will be required to have an ignition interlock device on your car for the following year. If you are convicted of a 1st offense DUI and register a .15 BAC or higher on a breath test machine, you will have your license suspended for 1 full year, and then you will be required to have an ignition interlock device on your car for the following year. If you are convicted of a second (2nd) offense DUI with a .15 BAC or higher, you will have your license suspended for 2 full years, and then you will be required to have an ignition interlock device on your car for 2 additional years.
