When is the best time of day to take an ovulation test? my dr told me 1st thing in the morning!?!?

I have heard that the first morning urine is not the best for ovulation tests. Im not exactly sure on why I just know that the LH surge that the test detects is not picked up as well or is not present as much after all night. It is best to take them later in the day after holding for at least 4 hours, or as long as you can make it, and not drinking in excess in that time. When I take mine I use the bathroom after lunch and hold until I get home from work and take the test about 530 and I have gotten positive for the past 4 months. I hope this helps.
