WHEN IS THE REVISED EDITION OF THE BECK & FRIEDWALD BOOK “LOONEY TUNES & MERRIE MELODIES” COMING OUT?
The latest information on this project will be posted here. For now, the “revised edition” is on hold. We cannot proceed without cooperation from Warner Bros. business affairs department. And while we have many friends at Warner Bros., in Animation and Worldwide Publishing in particular, who would like to see this book revised, the company is not pursuing any history-related projects at this time. Meanwhile, Will Friedwald and I are compiling corrections and information for a future edition, which will include much more on voices, music, and uncredited animators. WHO OWNS THE RIGHTS TO OUR FAVORITE CLASSIC CARTOONS? WALT DISNEY cartoons (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, et al) are owned by The Walt Disney Co. TERRYTOONS (Mighty Mouse, Heckle & Jeckle, et al) are owned by Viacom (Paramount).
