When prisoners are transported on commercial planes do they wear a prison uniform?

The prisoners don’t typically wear prison uniforms when flying unless there is nothing else for them to wear. This is done so the other passengers won’t be alarmed. Most airlines won’t allow prisoners to be handcuffed when flying, which is pretty stupid in my opinion. I’ve flown twice with prisoners and it was obvious to the other passengers that the person my partner and I were flying with was a prisoner. I think the passengers would have rather had the criminals in a jail/prison uniform and handcuffs, I know I would have been more comfortable with it that way. By the way, there is a real “con air” as one other poster mentioned, it is ran by the US Marshals in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and this is the preferred way to fly dangerous felons from one facility to another.
