When purchasing a nitrous paintball tank, what does ci mean?

CI = cubic inches. So the 60 ci is bigger than the 48 ci. Tanks will also have a PSI (pounds per square inch) – usually 3000 or 4500. The higher the pressure means more air can be packed into the tank. 3000 psi has an estimated 10 shots per ci and the 4500 has estimated 15 shots per ci. Depending on the pressure of the tank, take the estimated shots per ci and multiply by the ci number to get the estimated shots per tank. Let’s take a 60 ci / 3000 PSI vs. 48 ci / 4500 PSI to illustrate. 60ci x 10 shots per ci = 600 shots per fill 48ci x 15 shots per ci = 720 shots per fill So with the example, the 60ci tank is bigger but the higher PSI rating of the 48ci tank gives it more total air capacity. Hope this helps.
