When should i litter train my kittens?
If your kittens have their mother with them, then the mum usually shows them and they mimic what she does from around the time of 4-5 weeks when they’ve started to be weaned and are slightly more inquisitive to roam further from the nesting box to play. If the mum isn’t about to show them and you are hand rearing the kittens, I would make sure that there are more than one low rimmed litter trays dotted about their nursery room with news paper immediately underneath and just around the edges of the litter trays incase of tiny accidents, where you can place them in just after they have had a meal as this is when kittens usually will want to wee or poop. Gently help them to paw at the litter so that they know why you are placing them in the litter tray and after a few goes they will get the idea of what they’re supposed to do.
