When should metal or plastic conduit be used?

The use of metallic conduit is for use were every box is to be grounded to the electrical panel. It would serve as a bare ground and remove the need for a second ground. The PVC conduit (Grey only) is best where it is to be in the weather and makes a cheaper more waterproof shielding. Metal will rust over time. PVC will not.  more
