When should the room-side replaceable HEPA filters in HEPA-Vents be replaced?

There are several factors to consider in determining whether the filters should be replaced: 1. Replace the filters if a visual inspection indicates obvious damage to the pleated media or if any dark spots on the filter media are visible. 2. Replace the filters if a particle scan of the face of the filter media shows evidence of pinhole leaks by raised particle counts. 3. The best way to determine whether filter replacement is necessary due to filter loading is by verification of the total air volume all of the diffusers are supplying. Compare the current air volume to the initial balancing report. If the system is not providing the air volume and the AHU cannot overcome the increased static pressure, then its time to reorder filters and replace them. 4. Compare the initial clean static pressure drop from the balancing report to the current static pressure. PAP recommends replacement at approximately twice the initial pressure drop, or when the system can’t perform to initial balancing
