When starting RE, why do I receive the message “User John Doe is already logged on machine FLAGSTAFF,userid,”CAREFREE,userid”?

There are 2 servers for remote access to RE through Citrix. If you allow RE to timeout due to inactivity (about 75 minutes), then, the remote session will be closed, but RE still has indications that you are logged in. When you connect and happen to connect to the other of the 2 servers, RE will complain that you are already logged in. Please wait for a little while (20-30 minutes) and the RE session will ultimately logout and free up the resources allowing you to login. Please note that rule #3 in the user agreement that you signed, stipulates that you agreed to not leave your workstation unattended while RE is still logged in.
