When trying to record/playback audio using Nero WaveEditor/Nero Soundtrax I receive the error message “A problem occurred when trying to open output/input device”. Why?

It is likely that you have selected the wrong input/output device (probably the Wave Mapper). Please proceed with the following steps to select the correct input/output device: 1. Open Nero SoundTrax or Nero WaveEditor (depending on which application you want to use). 2. Click “Options” “Device Settings”. 3. A drop-down menu for the input devices and one for the output devices will appear. Open the respective drop-down menu and select your real sound card and/or speakers and click “OK”. The issue should now be resolved.
