Some carriers in the UK and France modify the information SoundHound sends from your device, and this prevents SoundHound from working properly. SoundHound now automatically attempts to send the information in a way that will not be modified by the carrier. But, you can also manually change the setting if you are still having trouble. Go to the options page by launching SoundHound and then click Menu > Options > Port Settings, then select 80, or if this does not work, select 443.
