When was Jojoba Hills SKP Resort built?
Work on the Resort began in November, 1989 on what had been the Lazy K Ranch. The ranch included a developed commercial trailer park that served as the base camp for the many volunteers who helped build the Resort. During construction of the Resort almost one million cubic yards of earth were moved. Five miles of roadway were created. Thirty-five miles of utility lines were installed. A water system consisting of three potable wells and several miles of piping was developed. Two miles of storm drains below and above ground were installed. As a group, the volunteer men and women contributed nearly 292,000 work hours in the construction of the Resort. By 1994, the first of the volunteers moved their RVs into the finished part of the Resort ahead of the formal opening on June 26, 1996.
