Further Interesting Quick Facts:

The Patriot Act, as we now officially call it, is a clever acronym for: Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism

Rep. Sensenbrenner, F. James, Jr. [R-WI-9] Introduced the Act in 10/23/2001 and President George W. Bush signed it on 10/26/2001 (four days after it’s introduction to the House). It is an anti-terrorism law drafted in response to the  September 11,2001 (9/11) attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center using planes hijacked by terrorists.
