When was witchcraft founded?
Modern witchcraft or neo-paganism can be traced back to the early 1950s when Gerald Gardiner was initiated into a family-tradition in Britain. This eventually evolved and hived into several of the now common paths of neo-pagan. With the publicity that followed Gardiner and his ilk more of the family traditions felt comfortable enough to “come out of the broom-closet”, resulting in a proliferation of “new” paths.
