When will Flying J upgrade its WiFi hotspots to the 802.11g standard?

Since the vast majority of WiFi cards in the marketplace are based on the 802.11b standard, it makes no sense for us to “upgrade” our network to the g standard. While the 802.11g standard will support speeds up to 54Mbps in theory, in reality 802.11g access points that operate in dual mode have a maximum throughput of 18Mbps. When a user logs on to the network using one of the more popular 802.11b cards, the entire hotspot switches to a maximum throughput of 9 Mbps.
