When would the different elements of the Town Centre site be finished?
The Orlans Town Centre lands will be developed in phases, with a number of Phase 1 components scheduled to be underway or completed in 2009. Phase 1 includes: • Shenkman Arts Centre • 140 seniors condominium units • 100 retirement home units • an 80-room, three-star hotel • 51 affordable housing units (41 of these are Action Ottawa units) • 112 apartments • 25 townhomes • 112 stacked townhomes • 23,000 square feet of office space • 30,000 square feet of mixed-use space • an anticipated pool and gym expansion by the YMCA in their facility Performance safeguards have been put in place to ensure that the development of elements of this P3 project proceed in a timely way. The Shenkman Arts Centre, City Client Service Centre building, YMCA-YWCA, retail spaces and seniors buildings will be connected by internal walkways. Phases 2 and 3 include more apartments, stacked town-homes, offices and an office building parking structure.
