Use a paper toweel or napkin to clean the dipstick off, then reinsert it, pull it out and check the level.Be careful not to burn yourself if the engine is very hot. Coild works too but car should be nearly level. The radiator should have a plastic overflow tank somewhere under the hood over the engine. there should be two lines on it. One line is marked hot, the other cold so you can check the level visually. The water level will rise if the engine is hot and sink if the engine is cold. This is normal. If the coolant level goes down, add more. It should be half water and half anti freeze.
