Where and how is opium turned to herion?

Ok well, opium is extracted from the opium poppy plant by various means. But as you didn’t ask about that I not go into that. Herion is synthesised from morphine, the diffent between the structures is that herion has actyloxy groups instead of alcohol (hydroxide) groups. This can be done as others have suggested either by boiling with acetic anhydride or with ethanonyl chloride. Turning it into a hydrochloride salt doe not effect properties, all it does is make it water soubleable.
