Where are all the skinny polar bears we have been reading about?
Our family has been in the wildlife business on the coast for over 80 years during which time all personal observations would indicate that bear numbers are steady or in fact increasing and from all outward appearances in great shape. Wildlife biologists will say that their studies indicate the polar bears are in trouble, losing weight, having fewer cubs, and generally under more stress due to climate change. We hope that is not the case, are quite confident that future generations will have a healthy bear population to enjoy, and in the meantime are doing everything we can to mitigate any environmental impact our lodges have on their long term health.
