Where Are Breadfruit Trees Found?

0

In the clime of the South Pacific islands, the breadfruit tree is widespread and well known. However in some other areas like the tropics, its abundance is not on that great of a scale. Given the physical appearance and attributes, the breadfruit tree is an amazingly handsome tree, its height ranging around 60 feet. Like a rubber plant, the leaves of the breadfruit tree are also very glossy and have a smooth texture but not as large as the rubber plant leaves. Coming to the types, there are two separate types of breadfruit trees. The first type is a seedless type while the other one contains seeds. These seeds, when boiled or roasted, their taste resembles a lot to that of chestnuts. As for the fruit, it contains oodles of starch and is usually not eaten raw. However it is liked in a baked, boiled form, commonly served with salt, butter or syrup. Sometimes it is even sliced and fried like we do with potatoes.
