Where are Red Eyed Tree Frogs from?
Red Eyed Tree Frog requires high humidity levels, it is also very important to allow good ventilation. The best enclosures are tall glass tanks with a vented mesh lid, the Exo Terra Terrariums are ideal. Provide a deep substrate of at least 5-10cm (2-4 inch), this can be either coco fibre or live sphagnum moss. The use of a waterfall will help keep the humidity levels to around 60-70%, if this is not possible, provide a large water dish and lightly mist once a day. If condensation starts to develop on the side of the glass, reduce the misting to a few times a week. Red Eyed Tree Frogs require a daytime temperature of 24-27C (75-80F), this should be lowered to 21-24C (70-75F) during the night. UV lighting is not required unless you have living plants within your enclosure. Feed on a range of live insects from crickets, locusts, roaches and house flies.
