The best Chicago style pizza I’ve had west of the Mississippi. The thin pizza is cheaper and is good.Generally, the Lake Austin location has hooked me up but I went to the north location and the seasoned fries were not tasty at all and were cold. The cheesesteak was mediocre. Definitely get the pizza or the salads. Also, the north location added $2 to my bill. When I called they said it would be adjusted automatically, that they do that in anticipation of a tip. Sounds fishy to me.Pros + Awesome pizzaCons – Stick with pizza

On my quest for a good pimento cheese sandwich – serious craving here! did some looking online and noticed that this restaurant offers one on the menu. Went to the Central location in Hyde Park and was treated to a great pimento cheese sandwich. There were cucumbers tomatoes and onions, which to my extensive southern experience is a little strange for this sandwich, but surprisingly worked and made the sandwich a little lighter too. The menu noted that the sandwich had jalapenos too, though they were not apparent in the taste. The host was quick in getting me seated. The parking lot is a mess, by the way, so I went about 8 pm to wait for the main rush to lessen. Found a spot and once inside got seated immediately. The order of fries is too much for one person to eat, though they taste great. There is a dipping sauce served with them that is not bad, but is very rich – it seems to have a mayonnaise base of some sort. Waiter was very polite and several different staff checked on

The Monday night special on veggie burgers makes this restaurant a weekly ritual. The Theta Special or the Chubby Chuck both top Hut’s unique veggie patty with delicious hickory sauce, sandwiched between soft hamburger buns – yummy but messy. The service is fast, the waitstaff are nice, the atmosphere is “Austiny”, and the drinks are huge so you never have to wait on a refill. On the downside, the french fries are edible but not great, and it can be a little difficult to find a parking space close to the building. Pros + veggie burgers, value, waitstaff, fastCons – parking, french fries, short straws

Nice ambience and helpful service improved lackluster food. Everything sounded better on the menu than it tasted in execution, unfortunately. The fried oyster appetizer tasted like its cooking oil —no oyster flavor whatsoever. Old or overused oil is the cause. The smoked salmon appetizer dish claimed to have aioli with it, but instead, it arrived with a whipped herb butter (so, yukon potato chip, smoked salmon and butter are supposed to be good together?) without any mention by the wait staff. Do they think guests don’t know the difference between butter and mayonnaise?Pros + location is central, variety, desserts!Cons – execution, NOISE
