Cancun is the best Mexican restaurant in town. They have a large menu with lots of choices and some good vegetarian options as well. They also advertise buy one, get one free coupons a lot. The food is authentic, served very quickly and the staff is very friendly and happy you came. The margaritas are refreshing and a bit on the strong side. The restaurant has a Southwest motif that is very inviting and has a lot of different seating styles ranging from large comfy booths to large tables to small, quiet tables. They also sell their own chips and salsa if you want to take some home with you. Pros + Ambiance, parking, friendly fast service

Cactus Pear is one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati, and probably my favorite in Clifton. I go once a week and ALWAYS get the chicken nacho salad ($8.95), which is the perfect mix of warm black beans, cool vegetables, melted cheese, and crunchy chips. I’ve had the cuban melt and arizone wrap sandwiches before, they were good, but the chicken nacho salad is awesome. A basket of chips and black bean salsa (highly recommended) are $1…they might not be on the menu, but you can ask for them. To top it off I always order one of thier perrrfect frozen margaritas (very strong, and also available in pitchers). No matter what time I go, I’m always seated promtly and the nacho salad is out within minutes! Servers are very pleasant. I never leave without a happy stomach and a smile on my face :)Pros + margaritas, black bean salsa, fast service

I can’t quite figure out El Coyote. You might think it’s a Mexican restaurant masquerading as a steakhouse, or a steakhouse masquerading as a Mexican restaurant. Whatever you think, you can’t go wrong. The food here is good, whether you go Mexican or steak, or you can get a combination of each. If you like margaritas, don’t go with the well margaritas. Order a real margarita on the rocks with a good brand of tequila. You’ll thank me for it later.

A three star rating represents a decent restaurant, and this one is decent. It has average food, most likely provided by Sysco. The dishes we at were tasteful and filling but lacked any real spices that might have made them more enjoyable. For Mexican and Cajun food, they have average food – nothing to write home about but nothing from which to walk away. Portion sizes were adequate and not super-sized, thank goodness. The menus provided adequate choices. The atmosphere seems conducive for a middle-age population and the place had a professional, albeit NOT yuppie-looking, crowd. This establishment looks similar to a turn-of-the-century bar and offered casual dining. One could hear dinner companions without any problems. The wait staff seats one quickly and food came soon after the order. The wait staff acts very helpful. A good average dining experience. Pros + Professional service, decent value, good caual ambienceCons – Parking, or the lack of it
