Are there charges for space rental? UPHS departments are not charged for use of space. University of Pennsylvania departments external to the SOM and outside organizations are charged space rental fees however. These rates appear within your SPO*TS session if you belong to an external department. All requestors are subject to a $50 no-show fee if SP&O Scheduling is not notified of a cancelled event. Are there charges for service personnel such as Security, Special Event Setup, and Audio/Visual? UPHS departments are not charged for these services if rendered within the regular hours of 8 AM and 5 PM. Security’s regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Before and after these times and on weekends, the overtime rate is $50 per hour. Charges will apply if you require personnel to be dedicated to your event. Will I be charged for Housekeeping? Whether or not an event will incur housekeeping charge is determined by the Union contract and varies from building to building.
