These appliances, commonly referred to as white goods, must be placed on the curb and have a sticker attached. Effective January 6, 2003, the following changes have taken place for disposal of these special items: • White goods/Appliances:………………………………………$25.00(per item) (refrigerators, ovens, dryers, air conditioners, hot water heaters, etc.) • Tires: ………………………………………NO CHARGE NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF AT DPW YARD MONDAY – FRIDAY 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM WITH PROOF OF RESIDENCY. All payments should be made by check to “City of Somerville” at the DPW customer service desk, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM, located at 1 Franey Road. Stickers will be provided upon payment, which should then be affixed to the item to be discarded and placed at the curb on pick-up day. In addition, as the result of new State safety regulations the City of Somerville can no longer collect propane tanks. Residents are advised to dispose of propane tanks with private companies.
