Where can I find advice about running an arts project?
There is a lot of advice available and even training courses that can help when you are developing an arts project. The main areas that need to be considered are health and safety (for staff and volunteers as well as participants), insurance, working with children and young people. You might also want advice on how to organise your project and where to look for funding (see Q5 below). The Arts and Young People Officer, can advise on all of these areas. There is also a four day course called the Community Arts Training Scheme (CATS) which runs in Surrey for people who want to develop skills that will help them to organise successful community arts projects. If you wish to attend this course, you would be eligible to apply for a Leisure Development Grant to help you with some of the costs.
