The Community College of Rhode Island offers an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science/Emergency Medical Technician that includes an EMT training program. The college’s Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) training covers delivery of emergency care and use of lifesaving equipment. EMT training at the Rhode Island college consists of six hours of lectures, two hours of lab work and 15 hours of clinical experience in a hospital emergency room.
