Where can i get holy communion bread?
Technically, anything can be used for communion. The Lutheran Church believes that it really isn’t what is used, (i.e., bread, Doritios; Wine, soda…), but for what it stands– symbols of the body and blood of Jesus. (I think the Catholics are the only church who belives in the elements literally becoming the body and blood of Jesus. I can’t think of the words, but one is transsub–something. Eh. Not important.) On the other hand, if you want something more traditional, church supply stores/Christian bookstores will have wafers. If you want a flatbread recipe, you could probably find one by search “flatbread recipes” “communion bread recipes”, etc. I have a few recipes as well, if you are interested. There are guidelines (in the Lutheran Church, ELCA at least) on what the bread should be– i.e., flat, whole wheat (so pitas would work), etc. Likewise, there are guidelines for the wine/grape juice as well– i.e., kosher.
