Search for California under United States. • History of Cartography Web Page: best starting place for information on history of cartography and related subjects. • Library of Congress, Geography and Map Division: bird’s eye views of cities and towns, railroad maps, and more. • U.S. Coast Survey Historical Map and Chart Collection: includes images of published coastal maps of California dating back to the 1850s.
