Where did poor people live in England during renaissance times ?

In the cities there was not a lot of the segregation we see in modern cities today, with rich neighborhoods and poor ones. Slums were built right next to mansions, and no one thought much about it. There was no “bad part of town” or “country club area” to be found, it was all mixed up together. By the Renaissance, serfdom had been done away with, but the poor still worked land primarily owned by the rich. It’s just that now they were legally allowed to go somewhere else if they wanted to, though they couldn’t afford to. I imagine their lives differed very little from those of their serf ancestors except that they had more legal rights. They were still tied to their small towns by poverty.
