Where did the word Carpal come from?
Like many medical terms, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is derived from the Greek word Karpos. Karpos in Greek, which is their word for wrist. Carpal can refer to any of the bones of the carpus at the base of the hand, including the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, and hamate bones.
