AHRC’s mission is to protect and promote the health and safety of donors, patients and offspring born of assisted human reproduction technologies. For that reason, AHRC will assess complaints related to any alleged contravention of the AHR Act and regulations currently in force, including controlled activities and prohibited activities. Prohibited activities include: • the purchase, offer to purchase or advertisement to purchase sperm, eggs or invitro embryos from a donor or a person acting on behalf of the donor; • the payment, offer to pay or advertisement to pay a woman to be a surrogate mother; • the use of sperm or eggs without donor consent.
