Where do Protestants get their strange ideas about Catholics?
As a former protestant and a current Catholic I can tell you about me and where I got my information. A lot of the misinformation I had was from websites. I had this idea in my head that Catholics either were not Christians or if they were that they were misinformed and serving God in a wrong manner. I got this idea from my mother (a former Catholic) and the church I attended. My pastor was fond of saying a Catholic was only saved so far as they ignored the teachings of the pope. I believed this and then I found this site. I decided to prove to the Catholics that their religion was wrong and that they should all be protestants. I set about attacking them (I called it questioning and claimed it was done in a right manner but it was attacking). I searched websites for ways to prove Catholics were wrong. I read the Bible looking for verses to use against them. I believed every thing a website said if it was anti-Catholic. So that is where I got my information websites, family, and church.
