It is the line of latitude at which the sun does not go below the horizon at midsummer. Similarly therefore it does not rise at midwinter. 66 degrees North for the Arctic & the same latidue south for the Antarctic. Lines of latitude circle the earth horizontally. Longitude is the vertical measurement, running North/South. more
