At the time of this writing (July 21) there seems to be an "issue" with garbage collection, and as a result, South Akumal has not had a collection for about one week now. However, it does look like garbage is being collected in North Akumal. The latest thing is that Tulum "wants us to confirm that we have paid our municipal fees for the (garbage) service". Has any homeowner in Akumal ever paid an extra fee for garbage collection by the Solidaridad Municipality??
