Where in the body is the most bacteria found?

It is not the mouth or the stomach. It is in the large intestine (colon), the last part of your intestinal tract. An average human body has 10exp13 human cells, and 10exp14 microbial cells (so 10 times more than human cells!). The numbers of bacteria increase from 10exp4 per ml in the small intestine to 10exp8 per ml in the cecum, the last part of the large intestine. Microbial density is even higher in stools, 10exp11 to 10exp12 per ml. Sorry for all these dry numbers, but it is definitely the large intestine.
