Where is Ayr?
Ayr is located on the West coast of Scotland, 36 miles from Glasgow and 80 miles from the capital city Edinburgh. Both are vibrant cities offering a range of cultural and leisure attractions. Edinburgh is renowned for is dramatic castle and world famous international festival. Glasgow is fashionable and lively and is second to only London for its choice of shops, bars and restaurants. Ayr is rich in history and is the birthplace of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns and is therefore a major tourist resort. It is also famous for its golf courses and was voted the best golf destination in the world! Ayr is only 10 minutes from Prestwick International Airport which offers low cost flights to London and other European Cities.

Situated on the Northern approach to the Burdekin Bridge, the district offers the natural beauty of The Burdekin River, creeks and miles of sandy beaches making the area a mecca for fishing, crabbing and watersports.
