Microsoft announced it would acquire software and intellectual property from Global Care Solutions, a health-information systems developer based in Bangkok. The company’s IT will partner with Microsoft to provide hospitals around with the world with resources to more efficiently manage scheduling, medical records, and billing in a multitude of languages. The firm is also developing a system called Azyxxi, which helps hospitals integrate data. Ken Kizer, the man responsible for turning around the VA hospital, became CEO of Medsphere systems, a VistA offspring, with the goal of taking VistA to the masses. This company was recently acquired by Microsoft. Just last month, Microsoft launched HealthVault.
