Where is Kassel anyway?
So for those of you still wondering, Kassel is a town in North Hessen in Germany, with a population of about 260,000 people. It’s most famous for the Documenta art exhibition which occurs every four years and also for the Grimm brothers – they lived there while attending secondary school. There are a lot of students around as the university is quite large. There are some truly beautiful sights, such as the Orangerie and Schloss Wilhemshoehe, although the town itself can be off putting as the buildings are not exactly easy on the eye. The social life is great though – plenty of pubs and clubs to suit everyone’s taste. Definitely worth a visit to!
