They are the best in KC! Smokehouse has the best cheesy corn, the beans are delicious and their brisket is to die for. Some people prefer Aurthur Bryant’s which is excellent too for those time when you want pure sloppy bbq. Which is good to have on an occasion. But if you want less mess, then Smokehouse is for you. See all those other resturants that boast KC bbq ain’t in KC. lmao like Fiorella’s Jack Stack, they are in JOHNSON COUNTY where the snobs live, and sorry but OVERLAND PARK, KS ain’t KANSAS CITY, MO. Restuarants like that are trying to capitalize on the success of real bbq. Sorry Jack Stack close but no cigar! Pros + Awesome food!Cons – Sometimes a little too smoky from the bbq pits, but it’s worth it!

We’ve dined at Famous Dave’s more than a dozen times. (We’d go more often if it was closer to our home.) Their food and their service are excellent. They’re almost always crowded, which attests to how much people love it. The choice of sauces are great, and they’re delicious; my favorite sauces out of all the BBQ restaurants in the KC metro.Pros + Great sauces, food and serviceCons – Always crowded, but what can you do?

We Ordered a $19.00 slab for a family of four along with the suggested Baked Potato Salad (great suggestion) The ribs were quickly devoured and we ordered another to eat there and one to take home. The meat was tender and fall of the bone and the sauce was unusual and very good I also took home a bottle of the sauce. I have to say this was a place that came highly recommended and I would pass this recommendation on to those out of town visitors or KC people who want great barbeque without having to pay steakhouse prices! Try the Cheesy Baked Potatoes they are great!

The first time we had Arthur Bryant’s it was at the top of our list after our KC BBQ gastro tour. The food and the ambience were perfect. All that was missing was the bulletproof glass – but perhaps…

Ok I agree with other reviewers about the meat at this place – sometimes it can be a toss up. I grew up in KC and moved to LA about a decade ago, but every time I go home this place is a must eat spot. I’ve never actually eaten in – we’ve always ordered out and taken it home, but it’s pretty decently decorated and the food is freaking awesome. If you like sticky sweet ribs, meaty bbq baked beans, and great sausage then this place is for you, if you’re used to eat coast bbq – then stay away. Trust me – just order the beans…they are more like a meal than a side.Pros + Good sauce, finger licking ribs, beansCons – Parking, takeout service can be slow
