My family and I stayed at The Montage in August 2004. I have nothing to say but AMAZING! Way better then the Ritz–its not as stuffy! The food at all the restaurants is amazing and the people that work there are so nice. We got facials at the spa and they were excellent. The gym is also excellent! When we arrived, we had many intentions of going out and exploring the rest of Southern California, but eventually decided that we wanted to spend more time at the hotel because it was just so beatutiful! We only encountered one small problem with our room. They for some reason thought that we were checking out 3 nights before we were actually supposed to and we ended up locked out of our room for almost an hour because they hadn’t made it up yet. Other than that though, it was one of the best vacations i’ve been on! I would definitely go back!

Can’t say enough about the exceptional service we received at this property. EVERYONE on staff was extremely friendly, offering a smile or a hello as we passed in the halls. I have been raving about our wonderful stay at Casa Laguna. What a lovely, enchanting, soothing, relaxing, magical place. The attention to detail was appreciated; the deliciously comfortable pillow-top bed, the bottled water in the room, the little amenities in the bathroom… sun-screen, lotion, soaps, even toilet paper tied with a strand of rafia… and the luxurious robes! I slept in mine. The CD player and the DVD player with your collection of classic movies, was appreciated. We loved the books, particularly the ones regarding the history of California. It was so relaxing to pick up a book in front of the fire in the mission house. Roger was gracious, helpful, and very friendly and understanding. From the antiques, beamed ceilings, tiles, white wrought iron tables and chairs, brilliantly colored flowers everywhere…including the bowls of tulips… the blue of the ocean, I couldn’t drink in enough of it.Debby R.Pros + Beautiful Setting, Great StaffCons – Car ports

Great hotel, but located on the wrong side of the Pacific Coast Highway. Ritz across the street has a much better location, but rooms aren’t as nice. Great pool and beautiful views.
